Why are organizations moving knowledge management (KM) to the cloud?

In its article titled Five Reasons Why Knowledge Management Is Moving to the Cloud, APQC briefly discusses the reasons.

More than 300 professionals in charge of their organizations’ moving content and collaboration to the cloud were surveyed. They indicated the following reasons as their main objectives for moving the content and collaboration portions of KM to the cloud:

⚙️ 51% — supply access from anywhere on any device
⚙️ 33% — reduce costs
⚙️ 33% — improve information visibility and sharing
⚙️ 31% — be flexible to add storage, apps, and features as needed
⚙️ 25% — provide better real-time collaboration capabilities
