Reduce the Risk of Losing Your Critical Product or Process Information™

Are you frustrated by losing critical content and information…

Through employee transition?

From not documenting in the first place?

Because of restructuring?

Because of people hoarding or hiding information?

Due to mergers or acquisitions?

From people not transferring knowledge to others?

Reduce the risk of losing the critical manufacturing product and process information your employees need to do their best work.

Implement a knowledge management process to capture content and information (knowledge).

Bell Design Technologies (BDT) helps manufacturers dissatisfied by time and money wasted due to losing critical product or process knowledge. We identify the knowledge areas with the greatest impact on:

  • Process consistency
  • Product standardization
  • Overall quality control

How it happens.

For more than 25 years, BDT has worked with B2B companies. BDT uses a research-based systematic approach to implement a strategy to locate where the knowledge about a company’s products and processes is and to document that knowledge as needed, in plain language.

Documenting this knowledge in plain language enables employees to find what they want and need to know to do their best work. These activities lead to:

  • Minimizing product and process variation
  • Improving productivity and quality
  • Reducing errors
  • Saving time and labor costs

Steps to Knowledge Management Process Implementation

Discovery

The discovery phase helps us to determine the current state of your knowledge management (KM) process. For 4 to 8 weeks, we are onsite to research, gather, and organize data covering 11 standards/criteria related to knowledge management implementation. We present our findings to you for review and approval before moving to the planning phase for the selected KM project.

Planning

After we understand your KM process’ current state, we create a KM blueprint (plan) based on the discovery phase results. The plan confirms that during the KM project your process or product knowledge is captured, documented, organized, and managed properly. This blueprint also confirms links between knowledge and its associated roles, processes, technologies, and governance. The planning phase spans 4 to 8 weeks, depending upon your KM process’ current state.

Implementation

BDT follows the KM blueprint to implement the KM project and begin rolling it out to the entire company. Depending on the project’s complexity, implementation completion ranges from 6 to 8 months.
