Training Design and Development

Documentation tells people what to do. Training helps people understand why it matters, how to do it correctly, and what to do when conditions change. For manufacturers, the difference between those two things is the difference between a workforce that follows a procedure and a workforce that understands the work well enough to execute it consistently under real operational conditions.

Training is only as good as the documentation it is built on. When processes are undocumented, outdated, or incomplete, training cannot reliably close the gap. BDT develops training and instructional materials from a foundation of accurate, current, and operationally grounded process knowledge, ensuring that what learners are taught reflects how work is actually performed.

BDT does not assume training alone is the solution. The work begins by understanding what the performance gap is, what is causing it, and whether training will address it. Training is seldom offered in isolation. It is most effective as part of a broader engagement where the knowledge that drives operations has already been captured and documented.

BDT supports manufacturers by:

  • Designing and developing training materials that are directly connected to documented processes and critical product and process knowledge.
  • Developing training that translates what experienced workers know into structured learning experiences that can be reliably passed on to the people who need it.
  • Building instructional materials that support onboarding, process changes, and operational transitions, helping people get up to speed faster and with greater confidence.
  • Developing scenario-based learning that places learners inside realistic operational situations, supporting retention and practical application.

The result is training that reinforces consistency, reduces errors, and builds operational confidence across teams.
